Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra vs Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max
In this very expensive flagship beatdown we compare the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra with the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max.
At the beginning of this year, Samsung released the very expensive Galaxy S21 Ultra. Apple followed three quarters of a year later with the equally shady iPhone 13 Pro Max. In our comparison of the iPhone 13 with the iPhone 12, we already had to conclude that upgrading is nonsense. But what about if you’re in doubt between the most advanced iPhone and the most luxurious Galaxy? The answer is obvious: unless you really want Apple, there are few reasons to go for an iPhone.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra vs Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max
Let’s kick off with the similarities. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and the iPhone 13 Pro Max are both very expensive; around €1200 at release. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S21 series is already a bit older and you can get the device for a little less. Nevertheless, they are both in the very expensive segment of supreme luxury. In both cases you get a gigantic OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate.
That, on the other hand, is where the similarities end. The screen of the Galaxy S21 Ultra is considerably sharper, Samsung provides at least twice as much RAM, the main camera has a whopping 9 times the high resolution and the selfie camera roughly 3 times. Furthermore, the battery of the Galaxy S21 Ultra is slightly larger and charges with 25% percent more power. You even get an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner with your Samsung smartphone!
In short, objectively speaking, the iPhone Pro Max literally doesn’t beat the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra in any area. You could argue that Apple has made a stronger processor, gets more out of RAM or is more frugal with the battery. But those kinds of claims do not alter the fact that the S21 Ultra makes an unrecognizable mincemeat of the iPhone 13 Pro Max on paper. Hence Samsung’s smear campaigns…
