Samsung Galaxy S21 FE vs Galaxy S20 FE | Porovnanie

We’ve had it. The successor to one of the best smartphones of 2020 was finally revealed after countless leaks and estimates of the date of the show. We are talking about the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE model, which is brought to the market by the flagship Snapdragon 888 processor, a design inspired by the Galaxy S21 series and a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. In this article, we will look at the improvements it brings over the older Samsung Galaxy S20 FE.

What makes the Galaxy S21 FE stand out

New design and colors

At first glance, it is clear that the novelty differs from its predecessor in its design. While the S20 FE has taken over the design from the Galaxy S20 series, the Galaxy S21 FE is a hybrid between last year’s flagship models and mid-range smartphones.

Samsung was also inspired by the 2021 devices when choosing colors. The novelty is available in four colors – Olive, Graphite, Lavender and White. Smaller differences can also be found in dimensions and weight, the S21 FE is 13 grams lighter and also a bit thinner and smaller.

Dynamic AMOLED 2X

A new generation of AMOLED displays, the so-called Dynamic AMOLED 2X, awaits the owners of the newly introduced model. It delivers more accurate color reproduction, nicer blacks and support for HDR10 + technology. In this case, it will be a screen with a diagonal of 6.4 ″ and, of course, with a 120 Hz refresh rate.

The presence of Gorilla Glass Victus protective glass and protective foil is a great benefit for higher protection against falls and scratches.

Snapdragon 888 and three major updates

When releasing a new generation of smartphones, replacing the processor is a matter of course. While the Galaxy S20 FE powered the Snapdragon 865 or Exynos 990, depending on the version, the S21 FE hides the Snapdragon 888 under the hood.

Decent performance is also lacking due to long software support. The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE comes with Android 12 and has three more major updates and four years of security patches.

Without microSD card support and charging adapter included

Another change will not please users who will not have enough of the variant with 256 GB of internal storage. The disadvantage of the new model compared to its predecessor is the lack of support for microSD cards. And since it’s been a trend since last year to sell smartphones without a charging adapter, you’ll have to buy one yourself if you buy this device.

What hasn’t changed

Construction and water resistance

What has not changed compared to the previous generation is the design. Again, we encounter a matte and plastic back, which is complemented by an aluminum frame. Both models also offer IP68 water resistance certification.

Cameras

The same photo equipment is also waiting for us. On the back we find a group of three cameras, which consists of a 12 MP primary sensor with OIS support, a 12 MP ultra-wide angle sensor and an 8 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The selfie camera offers a resolution of 32 MP.

RAM and storage

In both cases, the processor adds 6 or 8 GB of RAM. The internal storage capacity will not change either, variants with 128 GB or 256 GB will be available.

Battery

The battery capacity remains at a decent 4,500 mAh. Both devices support fast, 25 W cable charging as well as 15 W wireless and reverse wireless charging.
