Samsung Galaxy S10 and Note 20 receive a security patch

The December Android security patch has been available to smartphone manufacturers for several days. The company Samsung as one of the first, it brought it to the Galaxy S20 FE, Galaxy S9, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy XCover Pro and Galaxy S20 smartphones. For this year’s flagship series Galaxy Note 20 and last year’s models Galaxy S10 has run the update these days. Information about the update was provided by the portal XDA-developers.

Models with 5G take precedence

In the case of the Galaxy Note 20 series, the update is not surprising, because it is the latest flagship models of the manufacturer. The update appeared on the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 smartphone with the Exynos 990 chipset and 5G modem (model number SM-N981B). The firmware version is marked N98xBXXS1ATK1. These days it should be distributed in several European countries. A firmware version is even available in the Baltic States N986BXXS1ATK4 for Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra smartphone. An update for models with a 4G modem and Snapdragon chip should be available in the coming weeks.

But Samsung isn’t just thinking about the smartphones it launched this year. The Galaxy S10 series models also received a December security patch. Owners of all three of its models – the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 + – can thus enjoy better security. The firmware version is marked G97xFXXS9DTK9 and its size is 123 MB. That’s not much and its installation would not take too long. However, you should make sure that your smartphone’s battery is charged to at least 70% of its capacity.

Samsung and the competition have already started distributing Android 11

Samsung has been very active in recent week updates. She probably pleased her customers the most by distributing the stable Android 11 system with the One UI 3.0 extension. Although it has officially arrived only on this year’s flagship models of the Galaxy S20 series, it should gradually see other smartphones from the brand.

Owners of competing brands can also enjoy Android 11. TCL has announced its distribution for its three models this year. Xiaomi has updated the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro models to the latest version of the system. And probably the most active is the Chinese brand OnePlus, which updated the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro smartphones to Android 11 in October.
