“Samsung Galaxy A82 in the making, with retractable camera?”

Samsung is working on a successor to the Galaxy A80 from 2019, and that phone is known for its borderless screen in combination with a retractable camera. The question is whether we can expect that again.

Samsung Galaxy A82

Two years ago, Samsung launched a special phone. The Galaxy A80 was a phone priced just below the Galaxy S10 range and came with a completely borderless display. The company achieved this on the basis of a motorized camera module that could rotate and then serve as a selfie camera.

Last year, the A80 did not get a successor, but anyone who thinks that Samsung has buried this series may well be disappointed. GalaxyClub knows that a successor, a Galaxy A82, is in the making. It would again be a smartphone from the high middle segment, and of course this phone also works with 5G.

With extendable camera?

Now we have to disappoint you immediately, because much more is not yet known about this smartphone. We don’t even know whether Samsung will reapply the special idea of the slide-out camera, although we suspect not. Samsung has no longer released smartphones with the retractable camera, and besides ASUS, there are also no major competitors adopting the concept.

The question is also which chipset this upcoming Galaxy phone will use. Taking the price segment into account, the new Snapdragon 870 appears to be a contender, and the Dimensity 1200 also seems a logical choice for phones that are just below the premium price segment. Although it remains to be seen for more information.

Did you know that more was also known about the upcoming Galaxy A72 and Galaxy A52? What would you like to see in the A82? Let us know in the comments at the bottom of this article.
