Samsung Galaxy A12 and A02s officially announced
The Galaxy A12 and A02s are the latest budget smartphones from Samsung and will appear in the Netherlands early next year. The company says the A12 will be for sale in January 2021, with the A02s following in February. The exact release dates are unclear and we do not yet know what the devices will cost. Samsung will announce this at a later time.
The most important features of the Samsung Galaxy A12 and A02s are the large screen, the large battery and multiple cameras on the back. Both devices have a 6.5-inch screen and a 5000 mAh battery. Because the HD resolution is relatively low and the battery capacity is very large, the smartphones should last a long time. The phones support fast charging with a maximum of 15 Watt, just like the Galaxy A41, Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A21s.
The Galaxy A12 is more powerful and extensive than the A02s and has an octacore processor with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space. The A02s also has an octacore processor, but less RAM (3GB) and storage (32GB). The storage capacity of both phones can be expanded with a micro-sd memory card. This means you always have enough space for your apps, photos and Netflix movies and series.
More cameras on the back
On the back of the Galaxy A12 are four cameras: a primary camera of 48 megapixels, 5 megapixel wide-angle lens, 2 megapixel macro camera and 2 megapixel depth sensor. In addition to a primary 13 megapixel lens, the A02s also has a macro camera and depth sensor, both of 2 megapixels. You can take selfies in 8 megapixels (Galaxy A12) or 5 megapixels (Galaxy A02s).
Furthermore, only the Galaxy A12 has a fingerprint scanner, which is incidentally on the side. The Samsung A02s doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner, so you have to unlock it with a pin code or pattern. Both devices do not have facial recognition and Samsung does not let you know which Android version they run on.
