Rumor: Pixel Tablet gets privacy button
Google is going to put a so-called privacy button on the Pixel Tablet. This is evident from images of the Android tablet that have now surfaced.
Pixel Tablet gets privacy button
Well-known rumor spreader Snoopy Tech has on Twitter shared two photos of the front and back of the Pixel Tablet. Snoopy Tech photoshopped the wallpaper into it himself. In the last image we see a button that is not visible on images that Google itself has shared.
Since the tablet has a dual function, as a tablet and a smart display, according to 9to5Google it is a privacy switch that turns the microphone and/or camera on the device on or off. Both the Home Hub and Nest Hub 2 have a switch on the device that physically turns off the microphones. If this is actually a privacy button, then it’s a very last-minute design change. Or Google’s images weren’t quite up to date.
Pixel Tablet launch
Fortunately, we don’t have to wait long for the answer to the question of whether the Pixel Tablet will get such a privacy button. It seems that the Google Pixel tablet will be announced within now and a month. We expect the Google Pixel tablet to officially see the light of day on May 3 at Google I/O. Google will probably announce the tablet together with the Google Pixel 7a and Android 14. It is not yet known whether the tablet will also come to the Netherlands and/or Belgium.
