When will The Acolyte be released?
The Acolyte will hit screens in the course of 2024. No more precise date for the moment, Lucasfilm having the habit of giving the day of broadcast only a few months before. Ahead of The Acolyte, Lucasfilm planned to air Ahsoka as well as Skeleton Crew.
What platform will The Acolyte be broadcast on?

For the moment, Lucasfilm did not give an episode count. for the first season of The Acolyte. There are no rules for the Star Wars series. For example, Mando consists of 8 episodes per season, while Andor does 12 and Obi-Wan 6. In short, anything is possible.
Is a season 2 of The Acolyte already planned?
Lucasfilm only ordered one season for The Acolyte. It is not yet known if it will be a mini-series or if it can be renewed.
Who will be in the cast of The Acolyte?
The Acolyte has an interesting cast. The title role is held by Amandla Stenberg, a young actress who has already been seen in Hunger Games or The Hate U Give. She is accompanied by Lee Jung-Jae, a South Korean actor who had a colossal success by taking the leading role in the series Squid Game.
We will find other more or less well-known actors on the bill, like Rebecca Henderson who plays Vernestra Rwoh (a character who appeared in several novels) or Carrie-Anne Moss (Matrix) in an unknown role. Fun fact: Joonas Suotamo who had played Chewbacca in the postlogy and in Solo will put on the costume to play another wookie.
Who will be in charge of The Acolyte?
The Acolyte is a series written, overseen and directed by Leslye Headland, best known for his work on the Russian Doll series. The creator gave details about her baby’s tone during Star Wars Celebration in April 2023. She claims The Acolyte will be a bit like Frozen meets Kill Bill, all from a villain’s perspective. Everything will be inspired by old samurai movies… what could be more logical for a Star Wars? An entire program.
The Acolyte, what is it about?
The story of The Acolyte is for the moment very mysterious. All we know is that we will follow a Jedi and his former padawan during a criminal investigation. Our two accomplices will gradually realize the existence of a larger plot, perhaps involving the Sith.

When does The Acolyte take place in the timeline?
The particularity of The Acolyte is to take place during the time of the High Republic, 100 years before The Phantom Menace (Episode I). At this time, the Republic is at the height of its power, as is the Jedi Order, the armed wing of democracy. Admittedly, there are some upheavals, such as the war against the Nihils (a faction of pirates), but it is still a golden age. The Sith, meanwhile, are a distant memory, eradicated centuries ago… or so it seems.
This period is here adapted for the first time on screen, but is not new. In effect, it has already been explored by the label La Haute République. Launched in 2021, this editorial project explores a whole new part of the Star Wars universe with novels or comics. The goal is to show what the world looks like a few hundred years before Episode I, a period very little explored until then.
What are the Star Wars plans after The Acolyte?
The Acolyte has the distinction of being the last announced Star Wars series for now. This means that then… it’s very blurry. There is no doubt that The Mandalorian will continue its momentum with new seasons and that existing series will be renewed, such as Ahsoka or Skeleton Crew, but this remains nebulous. A project on a series telling the youth of Lando Calrissian would also be in the cards, but nothing concrete for the moment. It is on the cinema side that Lucasfilm has been more vocal. Three films have been announced during Star Wars Celebration 2023. All are expected to release before 2030.
The first is an Episode X that does not say its name. 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker, we’ll find Rey (Daisy Ridley) as she attempts to rebuild the Jedi Order. The film will be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Ms Marvel) and will have the heavy task of restoring order to the mess that was Episode IX. Perhaps the start of a new arc for the saga?
The second is a film centered around the first Jedi, that is to say years before the period that we know. It will be directed by James Mangold, to whom we owe Copland, Logan or even Indiana Jones 5.

The third will be a film directed by Dave Filoni. He will take care of concluding the “Mandoverse”, that is to say the stories started in Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett or Ahsoka. This movie should bridge the gap between the original trilogy and the postlogy and tell us how the Empire turned into the First Order.
Added to all this are projects that are still mysterious, but still supported by Disney. Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that Rian Johnson’s trilogy (The Last Jedi) was still relevant, but that the director had other projects on fire for Netflix. Taika Waititi (Thor Ragnarok and Love and Thunder) is also still at work on his film.
