Redmi 9 receives an update on Android 11
The Redmi 9 smartphone was one of Xiaomi’s best-selling mid-range devices. However, the Chinese manufacturer does not take very good care of its software support and is only now receiving a global update on Android 11. The Gizmochina portal informed about the news.

Upon arrival, the smartphone was powered by the MIUI 11 superstructure built on Android 10. The device received an update to MIUI 12 last year, and although the update to MIUI 12.5 is not yet waiting for it, it finally receives Android 11. The Redmi 9 model received Android 11 in China in early June and now it is reaching users in other parts of the world. The global version of the update is labeled V12.0.1.0.RJCMIXM and V12.0.1.0.RJCEUXM if users receive it in two waves.
How the competition updates
Samsung has promised that some of its models will be supported for up to 5 years. In addition, it recently updated the Galaxy A52, S21 Ultra and Galaxy S10 series smartphones. Huawei updated the P20 Lite a few days ago and has committed to continue updating the Honor models released before April 1, 2021.
