Postbank customers can now use Google Pay

Postbank customers can now use the mobile payment service Google Pay. The prerequisite for this: a Postbank Mastercard, Postbank Card plus or Postbank Card plus virtual and an NFC-enabled smartphone with the Android 7 operating system or higher.

Postbank customers who want to use Google Pay need either a Postbank Mastercard, Postbank Card plus or Postbank Card plus virtual. Also: an NFC-enabled smartphone with the Android 7 operating system or higher. To use the payment service, you need both the Postbank app and the Google WalletTM.

Your current mobile phone number must be stored in Postbank “Banking & Brokerage”. If you have met all the requirements, open the Postbank app and log in. Then select the menu item “Services”.

Now click on “Google Pay” and confirm adding your card with Postbank BestSign. Then you only have to accept the terms of use to add your card to the Google Wallet. Now you can use Google Pay as a payment method and pay in stores with your smartphone.

You can also pay with Google Pay in apps or on websites. Another advantage: Payments are also possible when your smartphone is not connected to the internet. During the checkout process, Google Pay also sends a virtual account number to the merchant instead of your actual card number. This protects your payment information.
