Poco F2 Pro gets Android 11 update
Xiaomi has started rolling out Android 11 for the Poco F2 Pro, website writes RealMiCentral. The major update is available worldwide and brings the latest version of Android and MIUI (Xiaomi’s software) to the device. The software upgrade is 3GB in size, which makes it smart to download it via a WiFi connection. Otherwise, you may quickly run out of your mobile data bundle.
You will automatically receive a notification when the Android 11 update for your Poco F2 Pro is available. It is also possible to manually download and install the update. You do this by opening the Settings app, going to ‘System> Software updates’ and then checking for updates. Next, the Android 11 update should appear. If not, you will probably have to wait a while.
The Poco F2 Pro is one of the first smartphones to receive Android 11. Google made the latest Android version available for its own Pixel phones in September and has only released it for a handful of third-party devices since then. For example, the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro received the upgrade, and the newer OnePlus 8T runs on the most recent version by default.
This is new in Android 11
Android 11 introduces all kinds of useful innovations, including the so-called chat bubbles. These are small icons of conversations from chat apps that remain on your home screen, even if you are using other applications in the meantime. This means you can always quickly open a conversation, type a response and close it again.
Android 11 also improves the notifications of your smartphone and the update focuses even more on privacy. You have the option to give apps a one-time permission to certain parts of your device, such as the camera, microphone or location. The permission is then automatically revoked. The Poco F2 Pro is the successor to the popular Pocophone F1 and has been available in the Netherlands since May this year. The smartphone combines good specifications with an attractive price tag. For example, it has a high-end Snapdragon 865 processor, large AMOLED screen, extendable front camera, four cameras on the back and a large battery.
