Personal Netflix favourite: The Night Agent

At the moment at my house, The Night Agent is the favorite Netflix series for which we like to stay at home. I thought it was high time to dedicate an article to it. Background information on The Night Agent

The Night Agent premiered on March 23. In its first four days, this series has emerged as the third most watched debut series. The story was developed by Shawn Ryan and based on the novel by Matthew Quirk.

Thanks to the strong cast, the Netflix Original is compared to top series such as Homeland, Jack Ryan and the Jason Bourne films. The lead roles are by Gabriel Basso, Luciane Buchanan, Fola Evans-Akingbola, Hong Chai and Phoenix Raei.

What is the series about?

In the United States, good guy and FBI agent Peter Sutherland works in the basement of the White House. On Peter’s desk is a phone that is never called, the emergency line. Since this is hardly ever called, the agent mainly focuses on reading and analyzing reports.

But never say never. He is therefore very surprised when the telephone – which you can only call if you know the secret emergency number – does ring one evening. Rose, a young woman played by Luciane Buchanan, is in great danger. Peter does everything to protect Rose. And so the story begins.

How high does the Night Agent score?

Since The Night Agent was shown on Netflix, 385 million viewing hours have been made (6/4/2023). With this, the thriller series is only 120 million hours away from the Top 10 TV list of All Time. According to MovieMeter, this series scores a 7.7. This amounts to more than sufficient. The average rating is around 6.8.

Netflix decided quite soon after the publication date that it is time for a second season. The only question is when? At least we know it will be on display in 2024. So you still have time to binge season 1.
