periscope camera, fast chip and more

The first specifications of the OnePlus 12 have been leaked. OnePlus’ upcoming flagship would make a leap forward, especially in the field of cameras. For example, the phone is expected to have a periscope camera for the first time in OnePlus history.

OnePlus 12

The OnePlus 12 will be OnePlus’ new flagship that we won’t see until December this year. Nevertheless, the first specifications of the device have already surfaced Twitter. For example, there are rumors of a periscope camera, which will be a first for a OnePlus smartphone.

A periscope camera for the first time

Previously, the manufacturer already used various telephoto lenses that gave a magnification of 2x or 3.3x zoom. However, with a periscope camera, in which different lenses are placed horizontally in the housing, you get the option to zoom in further. Because the lenses are placed horizontally, the focal length can be increased and the zoom effect increased.

It is not yet known exactly how many times you can zoom optically with the new periscope camera on the OnePlus 12. Presumably it concerns 5x optical zoom. In combination with software, you will probably soon be able to digitally zoom up to 30x or more. However, several rumourers think they are sure that the periscope camera will have a resolution of 64 MP.

In addition to the periscope camera, there should be two 50 MP cameras on the back. This is probably about a 50 MP main camera and a 50 MP wide-angle lens.

Other specifications

The OnePlus 12 will most likely run on the unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This will be Qualcomm’s newest and fastest processor. The battery would be 5000 mAh and can be charged with a power of 100W.

Announcement

We don’t expect the OnePlus 12 to be announced until December this year. The smartphone will probably first be introduced in its home country China, later the phone will also be launched in other countries. Presumably also in the Netherlands, although the latter is certainly not yet official due to various reports about OnePlus. You can read more about this in the articles below.
