Owners of old Android phones will be cut off by Google from applications

Do you have an old Lenovo K800 at home? The original Sony Xperia? Or maybe the very first Samsung Galaxy S? All of these, and many other phones from around the year 2012, are connected by the system Android to version 2.3.7 Gingerbread. If you have one and it is still functional, you can probably boldly call yourself a collector. However, the joy of using such pieces will soon make you bitter. These devices are now waiting for one inevitable step. Google has announced that it will be disabled for phones with the mentioned and older versions of Android to log in to applications from its workshop.

Of course, Android 2.3.7, which will be about ten years old, is not interesting enough for its authors or other developers to keep safe and take care of. So the American giant decided to cut it with imaginary scissors. To Google tools like Maps, Gmail or Drive it will not be possible to log in from such an old system. And exactly from September 27, 2021.

It will remain the only possible option login made via the Browser, the original Internet access application that was the predecessor of Chrome. In September, support for Google Play Services for Android phones in versions 4.1 and 4.3 will end.
