iOS 15 Safari: Tabs and Websites in Tab Groups

When you have many websites saved in Safari, the favorites list gets quite long. In addition, not all your favorites are always relevant at all times of the day. For example, you need the Google Workspace website for your work, but in the evening you want to have fun iPhoned reading and not thinking about meetings.

Create tab groups

Time to bring order to this chaos of stored websites! You do this by creating tab groups in Safari (from iOS 15 onwards): small collections of relevant websites. This way you only have important websites together.

iOS 15 Safari: Create Tab Groups

  1. In Safari, tap the tabs button (the two squares) at the bottom right;
  2. At the bottom of the bar, tap the ‘v’ sign;
  3. Choose ‘New empty tab group’;
  4. Give the tab group a name and tap ‘Save’;
  5. Tap the plus sign and open the website you want to add to the tab group;
  6. To add more websites to the tab group, tap the tabs button and open the website;
  7. When you have all the websites in the group, tap Done.

When you have created the tab group, you can quickly switch between the groups of websites. Open Safari on your iPhone and tap the tabs button. Then tap the ‘v’ at the bottom. Then choose the group you want to open.
