Orange lied about the speeds of its 5G

Orange had promised a considerable improvement in the performance of its 5G speeds compared to 4G, but that actually depends on the frequencies used. This false promise was quickly spotted by the Consumption Housing Environment Association (CLCV), which alerted consumers to the risk of subscribing to a 5G subscription while expecting superior performance. According to her, the operator has not presented with precision the availability of its network on French territory and, above all, has not explained the differences between the frequencies and the speeds they allow. Faced with Orange’s troubled communication, the association ended up filing a complaint, and Orange collected a fine of € 15,000. In addition to this sanction, there is the obligation to broadcast the court’s verdict on its website for one month.
