“OPPO will launch ColorOS 12 based on Android 12 in a few weeks”

OPPO may soon have some good news for OPPO phone owners. There are rumors that the manufacturer will launch its variant of Android 12 next month.

The fourth beta version of Android 12 has received a new patch with bug fixes this week. That means the stable version of Android 12 is closer than ever. Google will immediately make the brand new version available for its Pixel phones during the announcement. After that, it is waiting for the various smartphone manufacturers to follow Google. Many of them are already participating in the Android 12 Beta and will also launch their own beta program such as Samsung and OnePlus. We know from experience that these manufacturers also like to be the first with an update schedule and OPPO would like to take the first place.

While OPPO has not revealed an official date for the ColorOS 12 rollout, a screenshot has surfaced via GSMArena revealing that OPPO could unveil the next major version of its custom software shell next month. OPPO’s digital assistant Breeno, which can only be found on OPPO Chinese phones, was able to confirm the news. A Chinese OPPO phone owner asked the digital assistant when OPPO would launch ColorOS 12, and the smart sidekick replied: “ColorOS 12 is on the way” and will be announced on September 13. Since the news started doing the rounds on the internet, OPPO has removed the response Breeno gives to that question. Instead, the assistant now replies with, “That will be announced soon, stay tuned.”

If this rumor is true, it would mean that the public release of Android 12 is only a few weeks away. It is even possible that OPPO’s ColorOS 12 announcement will take place on the same day as Google. If so, then Google and OPPO will come with some good news on September 13.
