OPPO Watch 2 fully leaked ahead of July 27 launch, we know this

The OPPO Watch 2 will be released on Tuesday, July 27. The Wear OS watch comes with a rectangular design, eSIM, built-in GPS and the ability to make calls yourself. We get to see renders that reveal a lot.

OPPO Watch 2

OPPO is going to present the second generation of its smartwatch on Tuesday, the OPPO Watch 2. But of course we cannot just wait for the watch with Wear OS to be presented, because there are on Twitter a lot of renders of the Watch 2 leaked. The images come from the rumor spreader Evan Blass.

As with the previous generation, this smartwatch is also rectangular in shape, and there are two buttons visible on the side. Based on the leaked images, we can also deduce that the watch comes with a silicone strap that is available in the colors black, blue and red.

GPS and eSIM?

There are also two things that stand out in the images. We see the navigation at work, and that could say that the watch works with built-in GPS. Furthermore, we see a call on the screen, and this time the Watch 2 will work with eSIM. That was already the case last year in the home country of China, but whether it will work for us this time remains to be seen.

Under the hood of this Watch 2 we expect the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 chipset, which is the chip we already know from the TicWatch 3 Pro, and which should provide a better battery life. An extra coprocessor that handles the light tasks should mean even more good news for the battery. The watch also comes with 16 GB of storage and there will be a variant with a 42 mm casing and one with 46 mm.

New Wear OS version

One of the main questions surrounding this watch is whether the Watch 2 will work with the new version of Wear OS that Google has suggested. The OPPO Watch was not part of a list of watches that will receive the update, but that does not mean anything. It remains to wait for the launch of the smartwatch for more information.
