Oppo shows a new possibility to charge remotely wirelessly
Oppo has shown a new technology that makes it possible to charge remotely. In addition, it shows a new fast-charging project under the title ‘The Flash Initiative’.
Oppo with remote wireless charging
Oppo showed a new innovation at the Mobile World Congress in Shanghai. The manufacturer presents the new global fast charging project ‘The Flash Initiative’. It should enable fast charging for different product groups. Oppo says the following about this;
OPPO’s new partners include FAW-Volkswagen, Anker and NXP Semiconductors – leading automotive, portable chargers and chip manufacturing companies. Together, their products reach consumers in three environments where users often need to charge their devices: at home, in the car and in public areas. Each partner will work with proprietary engineering designs developed by OPPO, for which more than 2,950 fast charging patents have been filed worldwide. More than 1,400 applications have now been granted.
Wireless charging, remotely
We saw it before at Xiaomi, with Xiaomi Mi Air Charge, and now Oppo is also following. Wireless remote charging increasingly seems to be the future. Wireless Air Charging should make it possible to charge a device above a charging mat, above which the device is held a few centimeters. Details have not been shared further yet. In the video it works, among other things, with the latest concept phone; the Oppo X 2021 that we previously showed in a preview. It is a device with a retractable screen.
