OpenAI and Shutterstock extend their partnership for several years
The deal was therefore conclusive. OpenAl and Shutterstock have just announced that they are extending their partnership for a further 6 years. As a reminder, the contract signed in 2021 between the two entities stipulates that OpenAI can draw on Shutterstock content to train the generative AI of DALL-E images while images created using DALL-E will be offered. in Shutterstock’s image bank. DALL-E’s prompts (or image settings) system will also soon be available on Giphy, the GIF creation platform that Shutterstock recently acquired from Meta. A win-win agreement.
This collaboration also provides a solution to the problem of copyright. Here, everything is bordered, and there is (almost) no more risk that the AI is fed with content in violation of intellectual property. DALL-E is not the only generative AI to be legally covered: the generative AI Firefly draws on its side from the immense stock of images of Adobe.
