Only vaccinated people are allowed back into offices

Microsoft has announced that employees and guests must be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus when they enter the group’s buildings. This applies to all employees in the USA. Questions remain unanswered about a possible vaccination requirement in Germany and other countries.

Microsoft: Covid-19 vaccination becomes mandatory

Microsoft has informed its employees in the USA in a circular that the access is only complete people vaccinated against the coronavirus is allowed. Employees, vendors, and guests are required to provide evidence of this prior to entering Microsoft’s offices. The regulation applies from September.

On possible Exceptional cases Microsoft is already preparing. Anyone who “should have an illness or a protected reason, such as religion” is apparently exempt from the regulation. Microsoft has not commented on a mandatory vaccination outside the USA in the circular. So there is no telling whether the compulsory vaccination will also apply to German employees.

Meanwhile, Microsoft does not expect to be able to fully reopen its offices in September. The earliest date is now the October 4, 2021 called.
