A lot has already been released about the OnePlus Nord 2 5G, and much of that information comes directly from the smartphone brand itself. Now again with the recent information that OnePlus announces in a blog post.

The Nord 2 5G will work with three cameras on the back, of which the Sony IMX766 camera sensor is certainly part. We have already seen that 50 MP camera in the OnePlus 9 series, and this time it is also coming to the midrange series of OnePlus. This sensor is not only larger than the IMX586 of the first Nord, but the camera also comes with optical image stabilization. OnePlus also rightly notes that such advanced stabilization is all too often lacking in mid-range phones.

Nightscape Ultra

Earlier we learned that the Nord 2 5G will work with a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 AI chipset. That is a modified chipset that should help the phone with calculations around AI. The camera app will therefore be able to count on a Nightscape Ultra function, an improved night function. The phone will be able to take more beautiful photos, even if the ambient light consists of no more than the light of a candle.

AI is also being used for the screen of the Nord 2 5G. AI Color Boost should make the tones of photos more realistic and AI Resolution Boost should upscale the quality of images, for example in a video app like YouTube. Artificial intelligence will further come to the rescue while gaming. The network performance in online games is optimized depending on the available bandwidth, and the phone also uses an algorithm that cleverly handles the GPU of the chipset. This would allow you to use 10 percent less energy in games, leading to longer gaming sessions.

The OnePlus Nord 2 5G will be officially announced on July 22 and to introduce this launch to the general public, a special OnePlus team in the Netherlands and Belgium will be touring with the Nord 2 5G. OnePlus also recently announced the Nord CE and you can read the review here. What do you think of the upcoming Nord 2 5G? Let us know in the comments at the bottom of this article.
