OLO Loco – -apkrig

Shuffleboard is a classic game with sending stones or pucks in order to get yours to the most advantageous position and at the same time bounce the opponent’s stones away. It exists in many forms and differs in rules. Today’s mobile innovation builds on the same foundations, but seeks to innovate.

In the cute and minimalist game OLO Loco, you will usually play in two or four on one phone or tablet. There used to be a lot of such games, today they are rather rare. You can choose from three different modes, but the basis is always the same. Drag to send your stones to the opposite half of the field, where you get a point for them. If you shoot and your stone ends up with the opponent, or even returns to you at the beginning, it is removed from the game.

The principle is really simple and the main fun is how you bounce the pucks with your opponent and try to push each other out of the game. And although the authors have simplified in this respect, elsewhere the rules have been added. Your stones are of different sizes and also have different point values. At the same time, the stone needs to be removed three times to be permanently removed from the game.

There is a traditional ailment of the game, where the finishing player has an advantage, because unlike other experience games, points are not accumulated here, but the state of the area at the very end is decisive. This means that even if you manage to place a few nice stones at the beginning, they usually do not last longer than one or two rounds in their position. In this respect, the game seemed paradoxically long to me, because the first moves hardly matter.

The other two game modes are a bit more interesting. Boolo wants to hit you with small round targets, which is harder and the points add up at the end of each round, which creates a nice tension from the beginning. Reverso creates even more confusion than the base game by changing the stones after each bounce, scoring points for the other player. This is fun if you enjoy the chaos and just want to have fun playing while collecting points leaves you cold.

Finally, I will mention an online game that uses the classic two-player mode. However, finding an active teammate is not entirely easy, and you can wait several hours between shots. If you play mostly online, you better not buy the game. However, the giant praise deserves a treatment that is minimalist, but simply looks great. The control is simple and you can feel their weight from the movement of the stones. Animated emoticons that you can send while playing online are also fun. I have nothing to complain about in this regard.
