‘Olauncher’ is a beautiful unique launcher without icons

There are many different launchers for Android, and there are also plenty of old friends who have been popular for years. Still, we like to pick out launchers that take a different approach, such as the minimalist Olauncher that comes without icons or widgets.

The Android home screen is a very important place, and it can be a lot of fun to experiment with a different interface on your smartphone. Many apps come with extensive settings, but Olauncher likes to keep it simple. The app comes without too many options and even icons or widgets are missing on this home screen.

All apps are therefore visible with their names below each other, and you can put together your most important apps in one list. If you swipe up, you will see the app drawer, still without icons. Because it can be difficult to scroll through a long list of apps, there is a search box with which you can quickly find an app. By default, your home screen also consists of only one panel with your most important apps. If you swipe left or right on the start screen, you use gestures with which you can start an app of your choice in one go.

There is also the option to hide apps in the launcher. If you want to look them up later, long press an empty space on the start screen and tap the Olauncher logo. In addition, it is nice about Olauncher that this app can also surprise you by showing a new wallpaper every day.

Not unimportant about this app is that it respects the privacy of users. You can see that from Olauncher’s code, which is available as open-source. Tanuj, that’s the name of the developer of the app, posted the code for his launcher on GitHub. The app is also free and without ads.
