Carl Pei was instrumental in founding OnePlus, co-founding the company with Pete Lau. Together with Tony Fadell (from Apple and Nest), Kevin Lin (Twitch), Steve Huffman from Reddit and a few others, they founded the ‘Nothing’ brand. Now the brand has announced its first product; the Nothing Ear (1) wireless earbuds. The earplugs are characterized by a transparent design and a premium user experience. In addition, Nothing also knows how to market the product sharply.

As mentioned, the buds of Nothing are transparent. This results in being able to see the different parts in the product. Think of the microphones, magnets and the printed circuit board. Each earbud weighs just 4.7 grams, making them light in the ear. Furthermore, we see pressure-relieving ventilation openings, an ergonomic fit and there are three adjustable silicone earplugs.

Nothing promises pure sound thanks to the large driver of 11.6 millimeters. There is Active Noise Cancellation present. For example, you can use this with Light mode for moderate noise reduction or on Maximum for noisy environments. With the Nothing Ear (1) you have 5.7 hours of listening time with a full battery. With the charging case you have 34 hours of listening time. You can charge the charging case wirelessly. Ten minutes of charging is enough for 8 hours of power, according to the brand.
