‘Nothing’, the new company of OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, plans to release a pair of wireless earbuds this summer, with other products to follow later this year.

One of his driving forces behind OnePlus, Carl Pei, left the company in 2020 to embark on a new adventure with Nothing. Nothing, according to Pei, is a new progressive tech company and will be launching new products from this summer. Pei reported this in an interview with Bloomberg. The wireless earbuds will be announced first, followed by several products that together will form an ecosystem.

Nothing has today also managed to raise 15 million dollars (more than 12 million euros) through Alphabet’s GV (formerly Google Ventures). According to GV CEO Tom Hulme Peis vision is convincing enough to invest this amount in Nothing.

With the production of wireless headphones, Nothing will enter the busy waters of some of the world’s largest tech companies, including Apple, Samsung and Sony. Nothing will also compete with Pei’s longtime company, OnePlus, which released its first pair of wireless earbuds last year.

In addition to GV, Nothing has attracted another series of investors. Those are YouTuber Casey Neistat, Twitch co-founder Kevin Lin, Reddit CEO Steve Huffman and iPod creator Tony Fadell. Which products do you hope to see from Nothing? Let us know in the comments below this article.
