Normandy: strong suspicion of a cyberattack after computer failures
The Normandy Regional Council has been the victim of large-scale computer failures. This leads the region to believe that it is a cyberattack, although it is not yet confirmed at this stage.
The official Twitter account of the Normandy region mentioned this possible cyberattack targeting it:
The @RegionNormandy found computer malfunctions since last night. A #cyberattack is suspected.

Separately, the regional council says it has a strong suspicion that it is a cyberattack and that the breakdowns are not trivial. But he recognizes at the same time that there is no confirmation. As it stands, all access to the computer network is blocked.
Cyberattacks have multiplied in recent weeks against public establishments and French local authorities, the most recent having targeted the hospital center of Versailles last weekend, victim of the Lockbit ransomware. In August, the Corbeil-Essonnes hospital had already suffered such an attack, followed by a ransom demand of ten million dollars. At the end of November, it was the Guadeloupe region which had lodged a complaint after a large-scale cyberattack. The city of Caen at the end of September, the department of Seine-Maritime in October and that of Seine-et-Marne in November are also among the victims.
