Buy Nokia 8.1: the best deals

Nokia’s latest device is now immediately available at various webshops. For a separate Nokia 8.1 you pay the recommended price of 399 euros, but in combination with a subscription it is also available from all major providers. You can choose between two colors: blue and silver.

Although the name suggests otherwise, the company presented the Nokia 8.1 as a spiritual successor to the Nokia 7 Plus . Where the first Nokia 8 was still a real flagship, the 8.1 has the power of a middle class. The device has a dual camera, large screen and smooth Snapdragon 710 chip. The most important specifications at a glance:

  • 6.2 inch screen with full hd resolution
  • Runs on Android Pie
  • 12 + 13 megapixel camera on the back, 20 megapixel camera in front
  • Snapdragon 710 chip with 4GB RAM
  • 64GB of expandable storage space
  • 3500 mAh battery with fast charging

According to Nokia, the double camera captures more images in low-light situations. This allows you to take night shots that look sharper and clearer. Nokia also uses image recognition to automatically adjust the camera settings based on what is in the picture. At the front is a 20 megapixel camera for selfies.

Like any Nokia smartphone, the 8.1 is equipped with Android One. That is a virtually unadapted version of the operating system, without annoying bloatware and apps that you can not delete. Nokia also guarantees monthly security updates for at least three years after release and two larger updates. If Google releases Android Q later this year the 8.1 will receive an update soon afterwards.

In our Nokia 8.1 review we were very pleased with the device. “With the Nokia 8.1, the Finnish manufacturer once again shows that it is an excellent midranger. The device has a solid design, fast hardware, fine cameras and is guaranteed by the Android One program, “writes Wouter. “All in all, you get a great smartphone for 399 euros that you can use for years to come.
