No change. Restrictions against Huawei are said to not end under Biden’s government

When the new president of the USA, Joe Biden, took office a few days ago, there was a loud rumor that his office could be mitigated, abolished or otherwise interfere with known trade restrictions aimed, inter alia, at the Chinese company Huawei. After breaking ties with US software manufacturers and vendors, it is suffering significantly in the smart device market. As it turns out, nothing will very likely change in the situation. Although Joe Biden is now in the “lead” of the USA, lifting sanctions against Huawei and other Chinese companies is unlikely.

The speculation, which lasted several days, was basically cut off by the new president of trade, Gina Raimondo, chosen by the president. She told the media that he sees no compelling reason, why Huawei or Hikvision should be removed from the incriminated ban list. The Chinese Foreign Ministry reacted negatively to these words. The lifting of sanctions against Huawei is therefore clearly not taking place, even though Joe Biden has taken office. We will not see Google services and applications in phones of this brand. It will be interesting to see how the Chinese company will continue to operate in this market segment.

Where else can the situation move?
