NL-Alert is being tested today: you should know this
Today the Dutch government is testing the alarm device NL-Alert. With a test message you can check whether your phone is set up correctly.
NL-Alert test on 5 December
At noon this afternoon, the government will test NL-Alert again. It is a check that is held together with the testing of the air raid alarm. The government’s digital alarm system is tested twice a year. When you receive the message, you know that your smartphone is set up correctly to receive an NL-Alert. NL-Alert can be used for various circumstances. Think of natural disasters, a major fire or another emergency.
Around 12:00 your phone will make a lot of noise, something that comes with receiving an NL-Alert. The message you receive will contain the following text;
NL-Alert 05-12-2022 12:00: TEST MESSAGE. The government warns you during emergency situations via NL-Alert. You can read what to do and where you can find more information. Visit www.nl-alert.nl *** TEST MESSAGE Netherlands Government Public Warning System. No action required. More information: www.nl-alert.nl/english”
