Next week, an audio game with a blind princess starring -apkrig will be released

The blind player and our occasional contributor Lukáš Hosnedl published an article about The Vale: Shadow of the Crown in Vortex in February this year. He lured us to an adventure in the skin of a princess who can’t see and wants to return home. Developers from the Falling Squirrel studio have now announced that their game will be released on August 19, and the title also appeared on yesterday’s ID @ Xbox presentation from Microsoft.

The developers say that we should close our eyes, an audio game awaits us, which they describe as an action adventure. Even if we see nothing, we will fight enemies, search for treasures and lost artifacts, trade, hunt, explore the local world and take tasks. A branching story with a number of interesting characters awaits us, the team attracts.

The sound comes first, so we hear our enemies’ breaths, every step and the clanking of weapons. The game uses 3D audio to make the result as realistic as possible. The story should last at least five hours and the studio claims that we can look forward to elements of RPG. We will choose equipment, companions, quests and magical abilities.

The story is supposed to be emotional and naturally supported by good acting performances, without which it would not be possible. Just like in a good radio game. With regard to everything said, it should come as no surprise that the game is completely accessible to the blind. After all, even a sighted player will not see much more in the game. The image during the game is more like an interactive screen saver. The developers therefore strongly recommend using headphones for the best possible experience.

Because he can’t see from birth, he feels a chance for a little adventure.

Once we’ve tapped the story, we need to get back to it, at least briefly. The protagonist’s older brother sits on the throne and she becomes the steward of a smaller castle on the edge of the kingdom. Because he can’t see from birth, he feels a chance for a little adventure. On the way to the castle, however, the princess’s retinue is attacked and she finds herself in the middle of an enemy area. Here she must find allies and supplies that will allow her to survive a long and dangerous journey home. However, it leads through a dark valley full of secrets. Including the past of our own family…

The title has been in development for several years. The developers want to break the barrier between the player and the hero and breathe new life into this genre. The authors also received considerable media attention and several awards. They seem to be on the right track.

The game will be released on August 19 on PC and Xbox One. You can find more details in our older article, on Steam and on the official website.
