New! PS5 game Horizon Forbidden West postponed

The Dutch game Horizon Forbidden West has been postponed. Sour news for those hoping for a release this year.

The game, which will not only be released on the PlayStation 5 but also the PlayStation 4, looked very good in the first trailers. Gameplay footage showed that the game was already in an advanced stage of development. Basically, fans were looking forward to a release in this year.

According to Bloomberg, that’s not going to happen. Sony has postponed Horizon Forbidden West to a 2022 release. Actually, the game should be released at the end of this year. Unfortunately that won’t work. It is not clear why the game has been delayed.

This isn’t the first time Sony has come up with bad news about a PS5 game. Gran Turismo 7 has also been delayed and will be released sometime in 2022 at the earliest. The same scenario plays out for the next God of War. Yet. I’d rather postpone a game than be presented with a half-baked game. Knowing Sony, quality is of paramount importance.

Another example. Destruction Allstars was set to release in November 2020, was delayed and finally came to PlayStation Plus as a free game in February of this year. In short, delay seems very normal with the latest games from Sony.
