New on Netflix February 2021

Netflix makes a slew of new series and films available every day. On iPhoned we look ahead every month at the new offer with the best tips. These are often new series and films, but also old favorites that appear on Netflix.

1. News of the World

Tom Hanks will star in this new movie. Jefferson Kyle Kidd is a widower and veteran of no less than three different wars. He now travels from city to city to tell stories. In those travels he meets Johanna, a ten-year-old girl who was raised by the Kiowa people. Now she is being returned to her biological uncle and aunt. Whether she likes it or not.

2. Malcolm & Marie

Zendaya and John David Washington star in this black and white film written and directed by Sam Levinson. You may know Levinson from the excellent TV series Euphoria, in which Zendaya also plays the lead role. The film is about a filmmaker (Washington) who comes home with his girlfriend (Zendaya), while they await the critical acclaim after a major premiere. As the evening progresses, more and more truths about their relationship emerge.

Airing on Netflix from 5 February.

3. To All the Boys: Always and Forever

Another To All the Boys movie? Yes, but this is the last. Of course the title reveals that a bit. Main character Lara Jean prepares for the end of high school. She makes some trips to learn more about her bond with her friends, family and Peter. What decisions does she make in the end?

4. Pelé

Learn all about the life of Brazilian football player Pelé. As a football fan, you simply cannot miss this. Full of old images, the history of football in Brazil, interviews with team members and above all the story about how Pelé became so great.

5. Invisible City

In this Brazilian Netflix Original, you follow a detective conducting a murder investigation. During this investigation he discovers a world full of mythical creatures with magical powers. That suddenly makes everything very complicated.

Apple TV Plus update

  • The Snoopy Show – February 5

Time for new adventures with Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Woodstock and their group of friends. A great cartoon series for the whole family.

  • For All Mankind season 2 – February 19

Stepping on the moon was just the beginning for the thrilling space race, in this series that tells an alternate version of history. The Soviets are the first to hit the moon and appear to be building a dangerous weapon there.

  • The World’s a Little Blurry – February 26

Get a unique look into the life of young singer Billie Eilish. This documentary seems to see more about Billie’s life while she is on tour and recording albums.

Disney Plus update

On February 23rd, the Star tab will launch on Disney Plus featuring 24, Lost, The X-Files, Prison Break, Atlanta, Black-ish, How I Met Your Mother, Desperate Housewives and Family Guy.

The new series Love, Victor, which first would appear on Disney Plus and later went to Hulu through ‘adult content’, finds its way to Disney Plus in this way. You can also see (in addition to a new episode of WandaVision every week):
