OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei left the smartphone company some time ago and founded his own company with “Nothing”. He now uses headphones and announced today in a press release that the Nothing Ear (1), the name of the headphones, will be sold in Germany for 99 euros. The highlight of the story, however, is that the headphones do not compete with the normal AirPods from Apple, but rather compete against the AirPods Pro through ANC.

In fact, Nothing wants to catch up with the ear (1) directly to the tip of the headphones and show what the new company can do. Nothing bought company from Android founder

Carl Pei actually wanted to call his new company “Essential”, but the name was already taken. Android founder Andy Rubin had already secured the name for his company and launched a cell phone. But Nothing bought parts of Essential and adopted the name for itself. So headphones should only be the beginning of what Nothing brings to market. We can be curious what else to expect.
