Microsoft is talking about the new generation of Windows. And this one is coming soon.

During Build 2021, Microsoft will hardly talk about the major Windows plans that the company has. This is because the company is preparing to separately describe what’s next for PC operating systems. Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s CEO, made this announcement, revealing that the company has been testing “the next generation of Windows” in recent months.

New generation Windows

Windows is the most widely used operating system in the world. And not without good reason: it just works well, it is easy and cheap. The system is therefore very important to Microsoft, the company has become just about big with it. Changing it completely is therefore not very sensible.

“We will soon be sharing one of the most important updates to Windows of the past decade to create more economic opportunities for developers and creators. I’ve hosted it myself for the past few months and I’m incredibly excited about the next generation of Windows. Our promise to you is this: We will create more opportunities for every Windows developer today and welcome every creator looking for the most innovative, new, open platform to build, distribute, and monetize applications. We look forward to sharing more soon, ”said the CEO.

Teaser

To get us excited, Microsoft has published a ‘teaser’. You can find this below (via The Verge). The next generation will likely include some significant changes to the Windows Store, allowing developers to submit any Windows application, including browsers such as Chrome or Firefox. According to rumors, Microsoft could even allow third-party trading platforms in apps. This is good news for consumers, as it allows for more innovations to come into the system.

What is also striking, the CEO is not talking about Windows 10, but about the ‘next generation’. This could indicate that the next Windows will be renamed.
