Motorola teases flagship with Snapdragon 870 in mysterious gif

Motorola is coming soon with a top device from the Moto G series, and it looks like a launch is near. In a gif to our editors, Motorola Netherlands already teases the upcoming device with Snapdragon 870.

Motorola announced last year at a Qualcomm event that it will release devices with the high-end Snapdragon 888 in 2021. Later it added that there will also be a flagship in the Moto G series, which we normally know for are midrange devices. In January, Lenovo’s subsidiary brand then launched its affordable Edge S flagship in China, and it looks like a launch is getting close to us.

At the editorial office we received a mysterious gif in which Motorola shows a number of details of the smartphone. We see a flat screen with fine edges, a fingerprint scanner on the side, a main phone input and what looks like a volume slider. That concept is of course known from the iPhone, but OnePlus also has one. Finally, Motorola also shows the Snapdragon 870.

Expected specifications

All these features seem to correspond to the Motorola Edge S, or the Motorola G100 as it is rumored to be called by us. The phone has a 6.7 inch Full HD AMOLED display with a 90 Hz refresh rate. The powerful chipset is assisted by 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of storage. It has a sturdy 5000 mAh battery and there are four cameras, with a 64 MP sensor as the main camera.

Now the question remains when we will know more about the phone’s launch, and we just know that Motorola will be “coming out soon” with more information.
