Motives will cut out things from Dead Space that no longer work -apkrig

It seems difficult to understand, but after the first very economical batch of official information about the remake of the sci-fi horror film Dead Space by EA Motive, we learn more and more details through various interviews. After yesterday’s exhaustive preview, we have a new load of information for you. Yes, it’s hard to silence fans.

“We’re taking the opportunity to also remove some things that aren’t working and make sure the game stays relevant to modern audiences.”

First, we will draw on a new interview that appeared directly on the official website of the Motive studio. He represents the project manager. They are producer Philippe Ducharme, creative director Roman Campos-Oriola and art director Mike Yazijian. Although the first two nominees call themselves fans of the series, it is Mike who has direct experience with the brand. He worked as an art director on Dead Space 2, and therefore even has his own materials, which can now be useful when working on the remake of number one.

Although most of the talk revolves around the same topics as a previously published interview for IGN magazine and the statements are the same, we find one interesting news. Until now, it has been constantly repeated that the new version will be as faithful to the original as possible, as authentic as possible, although the authors have indicated that some news will appear, for example, from later games in terms of story and gameplay. They should touch combat systems or parts in zero gravity.

Although there is assurance of respect for the original game, Mike Yazijian went a little further than his colleagues Ducharme and Campos-Oriola in an interview with IGN. “We take the opportunity to also remove some things that don’t work and make sure the game stays up to date for modern audiences. But even that needs to be done with surgical precision, “he stressed. However, he did not specify what this might involve. Still, it surprised me a little. Until now, developers have repeatedly danced around the possibility of adding something, and suddenly it turns out that they just throw something away as well. This, as a fan, naturally raises small concerns in me about how sensitive they will be.

Perhaps in this sense, they will be supported by a small group of fans, who communicate with the team on a regular basis from the very beginning and have to make sure that the authors do not get too far away from the original somewhere. So when it comes to remake and not reimagination or reboot. Otherwise, of course, I would understand to some extent their desire for change.

With UX, the developer of the original game helps

Once we have touched on who is actually working on the title, we can look at more details about the team. Producer Philippe Ducharme worked at EA from 2003 to 2010 and then moved to Ubisoft, where he worked for Watch Dogs Legion. He returned to EA last summer. Roman Campos-Oriola also worked at Ubisoft, specifically from 2005 to 2020. He participated in For Honor, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Red Steel 1 and 2. Mike Yazijian worked at EA until 2011, then moved to Warner Bros. Games where he helped with Batman: Arkham Origins. He returned to EA in 2018 and served as art director for Star Wars: Squadrons.

Video Games Chronicle magazine also came up with its own analysis. He noticed that EA Motive is assisted by UX director of the original Dead Space Dino Ignacio. On Twitter he wrotethat he was invited to collaborate in January and considers it a great honor to be able to help with a brand that is so dear to him. The level design is again taken care of by Gary Stewart, who previously held the same position in BioWare and worked on the Mass Effect series from the second part. At the same time, Motive continues to look for other colleagues, specifically over 25 people for all possible positions. But it doesn’t have to be all about this project, because the studio has to work on multiple games at the same time.

But we also know for sure who is not working on the remake. He is, of course, mainly the co-author of the original game, Glen Schofield, who works in the new Striking Distance studio on his own sci-fi survival horror film The Callisto Protocol, which is described as the spiritual successor of the Dead Space series. On Twitter but he made it clear that I was happy with the remake.

She considers the management of the original game to be one of the highlights of her career and, according to her words, is looking forward to what EA Motive will do with it. They courtesy of him through the official account oplatili with the fact that Schofield has paved the way for them and is looking forward to the change to The Callisto Protocol. The reference to Schofield does so discovered already in the first trailer. It reads that the famous Plasma Cutter is a product of Schofield Tools.

Schofield is not the only former Dead Space developer to work on The Callisto Protocol today. One of his closest collaborators is Steve Papoutsis, who also worked on the Dead Space series. He also congratulated EA Motive and said that he hoped to enjoy working on the game as much as he once did. And she looks forward to playing it. It’s nice to see that there are such nice relationships between colleagues.

And finally, the smile is worth a short mention tweet, in which the announcement of the remake was caught by the designer American McGee. Although he has nothing to do with Dead Spac, he has been trying for many years to resurrect the sequel to his dark Alice. After announcing the new Dead Space, he wrote that when EA was ready to address him and wanted another episode that had been delayed for years, he was ready to hear the call. You can find more details about Alice: Asylum in our article from January 2019, and nothing much has changed since then. Just a few more years passed.
