Mother breastfeeds four-year-old daughter: ‘I want to inspire others’

“I hope breastfeeding becomes normalized and other moms don’t have to stop until they’re done,” she said in an interview with The Irish Sun.

Two at a time

Natasha never wavered between bottle-feeding and breast-feeding—even when the birth of her youngest daughter forced her to feed two children at once. “For me, breast lining is the most natural,” she says. “My oldest child has never been to the doctor and has never taken antibiotics. My youngest has only had a respiratory infection once. I’m sure breastfeeding has boosted their immune system.” In addition, Natascha finds feeding together only pleasant. “Every night they fell asleep together, each holding one breast, holding hands.”

Disapproving looks

What does upset the mother are all those disapproving looks when she breastfeeds her child in public. “It’s okay to portray women in bikinis or lingerie on giant billboards, but can’t a mother delicately feed her child?” She also finds it annoying when people ask why she is ‘still’ breastfeeding. “With the emphasis on ‘still’. People probably don’t say that intentionally, but it’s a lack of knowledge. Even within the medical world.”
