More than just meetings [Webrug]

ClickMeeting is a well-known platform for video conferencing, webinars and online meetings. As a content producer and entrepreneur, I thought to myself, I’ll show you what my working week looks like with the European solution ClickMeeting.

What is the difference between a webinar and a large meeting that focuses on a presentation?

The difference is actually not that big. A webinar is a seminar held over the Internet – and as the world has become more digital than ever in the past two years, webinars have become a major source of income for many.

For webinars, ClickMeeting offers additional quality in terms of audio and video as well as extensive control options for moderators – larger groups of participants who also do not know each other can also be better integrated into the seminar. In normal business meetings, a lot depends on the fact that all colleagues already know each other and that participants can have their own say.

There is a good reason why companies should consider using a webinar platform instead of a meeting service:

You can go through all documents in advance – only the content has to be discussed in the meeting. ClickMeeting is also ideal for creating reference materials that can be easily shared via email, social media or on the company website.

Host a webinar on ClickMeeting

Hosting a webinar is easy. There are three different ways that your audience can access your content. With a live webinar, you can specify on which day and at what time the seminar should take place. ClickMeeting supports up to eight video streams – so you can make your webinar extremely interactive. You can also make your event even more interactive with a whiteboard, a presentation, a CTA (Call to Action) button, a survey, etc. But before you dare to do something like this, you should first hold a few smaller webinars.

With an on-demand webinar, you can pre-record the entire event and then present it at a later time. And with an automated webinar, the entire presentation (or online lessons, training, conference or session or your own online event with a prepared video) runs automatically so that you can concentrate fully on the participants. If you want to hold the webinar for different groups of participants, you can also revise your presentation at any time.

A practical feature, by the way, is that participants can take part in the webinar using their computer or smartphone. No additional applications need to be installed, all you need is internet access.

You can personalize the virtual meeting room with different background designs, forward it to a thank you page, automatically send thank you e-mails and have the webinar recorded automatically, as well as create reminders.

Webinars are becoming increasingly popular

Live webinars were the most popular between June 2020 and June 2021 – a total of 1,541,925 webinars were held; in comparison, there were only 649,367 online meetings and 106,478 automated webinars.

The average webinar duration was 99 minutes, while the average online meeting duration was 65 minutes.

The average participation time for webinars is 40 minutes, and for online meetings it is 35 minutes. The most popular days to host webinars are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Record a webinar

If you choose to do an on-demand webinar or an automated webinar, you’ll need to pre-record the entire event – this is not a bad idea, especially for beginners. Once you know what you need for your webinars, you can start increasing the production effort and making the content even more entertaining.

The recording can be started and stopped with one click and the recordings are automatically saved in your account. You can easily shorten it if necessary and download it as an MP4 file. If you work digitally, you can move the recordings to the archive so that you can access them from anywhere.

Moderators can upload and share files. The meeting dashboard also gives you access to YouTube – where ClickMeeting suggests how-to videos, but you can search for videos as usual. Surveys can also be created.

Participants can be invited to the webinar by email and then only have to click on the appropriate link. Next, you need to provide your name or, alternatively, your email address and test your connection. Finally, you have to check the plug-ins and set up the camera and microphone. You should pay particular attention to the right lighting and the environment.

ClickMeeting offers a helpful tutorial video for beginners (unfortunately only in English, but you can choose German subtitles).

compatibility

ClickMeeting is compatible with Windows and macOS as well as all common browsers, for example Mozilla Firefox 3 or higher, Google Chrome, Safari 4 and 5 etc.

An Office plug-in links ClickMeeting with Outlook and other Microsoft programs, and the Chrome plug-in can also be integrated into Google Calendar. Android and iOS apps are also available – the app can be used to plan meetings, stream audio and video, share the screen and record events.

safety

You can secure your meetings with a password or a token – otherwise anyone with the link can join. In token-protected meetings, each participant receives a special token that can only be used by one person at a time.

Prices and subscriptions

If you want to get the most out of the webinars, you should consider the subscription with automated meetings (package “Automated”) – because you can save the recordings in HD quality to upload them later to YouTube or Dropbox. This package also allows you to automatically broadcast your events on Facebook or YouTube, publish the recording on your profile page or send participants a thank you message, invite them to upcoming events and issue certificates of attendance. If you don’t want to upload the recordings in HD quality anywhere and don’t need event automation, the standard quality in the smaller “Live” package is also sufficient. However, the price difference between the tariffs is relatively small, which is why you should also consider the automated package that is most popular with ClickMeeting users, depending on the planned use.

The prices below are for up to 25 participants – the more participants, the higher the price. You can find the current prices here: https://clickmeeting.com/de/pricing
