Mobile phone sales are growing again. Xiaomi is the biggest jumper and Huawei is worried

After a very bad few months, caused mainly by the extreme spread of coronavirus and related events, the mobile phone market seems to be returning to a positive wave. This can be read from the preliminary results of the analysis that International Data Corporation (IDC) assessed sales of mobile phones for Q4 2020. According to her, 385.9 million phones were sold during this three-month period. The total values for last year are 5.9% lower than for 2019, however the trend is obviously rising. This is shown in particular by the percentage difference between the fourth quarters of the last two years. It is 4.3%.

Apple has the biggest credit for this in terms of the number of phones sold, selling 90.1 million phones at the end of last year, holding the number one spot. It jumped by a respectable 22.2% year-on-year. While Samsung has not seen any major fluctuations, big things happened at chinese brands. Xiaomi sold more than 10 million more phones than in the same period a year ago, and with a huge increase of 32%, it settled with 43.3 million units sold at the top of the list. If you are wondering where Huawei is, then it is currently in fifth place behind Oppo. Sales of this company’s mobile phones, which are plagued by US trade sanctions, fell by a massive 42.4% between Q4 2019 and Q4 2020.

How do you think sales will continue to develop?
