Microsoft now lets you run Android apps on Windows 10

Microsoft now lets users stream Android games on their PC. The new functionality works via the Your Phone app in Windows 10 and in combination with a Samsung device.

Android on Windows 10

Microsoft is introducing more features for the Your Phone app. That is an app on Windows 10 that wants to bridge the gap between your PC and smartphone. You can answer messages, receive notifications, make phone calls and view photos from your phone via Your Phone for Windows 10 for some time now. Microsoft is now adding the option to stream apps from your smartphone to your PC. The feature was announced last year, but it is available now.

You can run multiple apps on Windows 10 at the same time and they will then appear in a separate window and in the taskbar of your PC. Then use the mouse to operate the apps. You tap buttons with your mouse in the app and tap twice will take you back. You can also hold down the mouse button for a long time and scroll through content with the mouse wheel.

Supported Phones

The new feature is currently only available for select Samsung phones running Android 11, and Microsoft shares a list of supported devices. What is striking is that the recent S21 series does not yet work with the apps and the Microsoft Surface Duo does not yet offer support.
