Microsoft Mesh, Virtual Teams meetings like from the future are here

Microsoft has introduced a very interesting innovation at special events focused on AR / VR (augmented and virtual reality). The novelty I’m talking about is the application Microsoft Mesh. Microsoft has introduced Mesh, an application that aims to provide platform for virtual reality meetings. Microsoft Mesh will be a collaboration platform for sharing virtual environments. What’s more, in a virtual environment, people will be able to work with 3D models in the current size, which they will be able to share and edit in real time.

Microsoft says that users will feel as if they are in the same place with the people with whom they share a virtual environment, even if they are not physically together. Personally, I would say that I can imagine Mesh as Microsoft Teams from the future. In addition, colleagues from around the world could work in “the same place”. Microsoft introduced Mesh somewhat magnificently, but from the beginning people in the platform will turn out to be virtual avatars, which Microsoft took over from the social network AltspaceVR, which the company acquired in 2017.

The final plan of Microsoft Mesh is the so-called “holoportace“, Which will allow users to appear in virtual space like themselves. Microsoft may make Mesh available on a variety of devices. HoloLens 2 users already have the very first access, most likely to be followed by the arrival of other virtual reality headsets. Microsoft introduced Mesh really recently, but already plans to integrate Mesh into Teams and Dynamics 365 in the future, which could give users a unique meeting experience.
