Microsoft has an ace up its sleeve for Bing
Microsoft has big plans to improve its Bing search engine. The artificial intelligence behind the ChatGPT language model is intended to help answer questions from users directly. At Google, in turn, the alarm bells are likely to ring again.
Bing: Microsoft wants to integrate ChatGPT
Bing leads a shadowy existence compared to Google when it comes to user favors. Nobody knows this better than Microsoft. So it’s not surprising that the company continues to look for ways to convince users of Bing. Now they seem to have found an answer: The AI behind the ChatGPT language model should help to provide better search results (source: the information).
Microsoft is reportedly planning to start with one separate variant of its search engine, which is enhanced with ChatGPT. If the test is successful and well received by users, the technology could even become the new standard at Bing. However, it is also clear that ChatGPT is not yet suitable for real-time information. The weather or current sports results can not be displayed.
With the Bing variant of ChatGPT is still before the end of March 2023 to be expected. If ChatGPT is then no longer available free of charge for all users, then Bing would be a possible way to still get automatically generated answers from the language model. OpenAI, as the operator of ChatGPT, plans to charge money for answers in the future. Microsoft invested $1 billion in OpenAI in 2019.
AI can create not only text but also images. You can see how this works in the video:
ChatGPT on Bing: What is Google doing?
Google sees itself threatened by ChatGPT and has reportedly accelerated work on its own AI prototypes and products. Significantly more employees than before are said to be taking care of AI matters after Google boss Sundar Pichai declared an internal alert towards the end of last year.
