Microsoft Bing hits 100 million daily users
Bing, Microsoft’s search engine coming to compete with Google, has reached the milestone of 100 million daily active users. This comes shortly after Microsoft lifted the veil on the new version incorporating artificial intelligence.
100 million daily users on Bing
“We are pleased to announce that after a number of years of steady progress, and with a small boost of over one million new Bing users with Preview, we have reached the Bing’s 100 million daily active users mark », revealed Yusuf Mehdi, head of consumer marketing at Microsoft. “This is a surprisingly remarkable number, yet we are fully aware that we remain a small player, with a single-digit share. That said, it feels good to be in the dance.”he adds, referring to its competitor Google, which largely dominates the market.
It is certain that Microsoft has managed to make people talk about Bing in recent weeks with the announcement of an artificial intelligence based on ChatGPT. Anyone can register and thus test the system. A conversational agent is present and it is possible to make various requests. He will be able to find the information on different sites and group the answers in the conversation you have with him.
Microsoft hadn’t revealed Bing’s daily active user count before adding its chatbot, but the test version certainly put the search engine in the spotlight. Microsoft now finds that about a third of Bing Chat testers are using Bing for the first time. “We’re seeing an average of about three conversations per session, with more than 45 million total conversations since the start of the test”underlines the framework of Microsoft.
Microsoft does not yet say when the final version of Bing with ChatGPT-style artificial intelligence will be available to everyone.
