Media Markt and Saturn are merging into one brand – that is now changing

The electronics stores Media Markt and Saturn have been operating under a joint group for several years. Now the company wants to bring the two brands closer together and is launching the first joint brand campaign.

With the new claim “Let’s go!”, the brands of Media Markt and Saturn are to move closer together in the future. The MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group – the group behind the two brands – announced.

Media Markt and Saturn merge into one brand

In the future, the former competitors Media Markt and Saturn will appear as a common brand in Germany. To this end, the group will synchronize all sales channels and the external appearance “successively”.

This also means that the two brands will appear with a common brand logo in the future. In this way, what is already being lived internally becomes visible to the outside world. The group promises its customers “many advantages” from the merger of the two brands.

Joint brand campaign as the first step

“With the first joint brand campaign for MediaMarkt and Saturn in Germany, we are consistently taking the next step in our repositioning,” explains Head of Marketing Michael Schuld.

We are bringing two strong brands even closer together, so it is only logical that we also present the brand identity of MediaMarkt and Saturn under a joint campaign and bring the numerous advantages closer to customers – in line with our goal of making technology accessible to everyone and the best get out of technology.

After this first step, a joint benefit program is to follow in the future. With this, customers could collect and redeem points across brands. It should also be possible to successively redeem shopping vouchers in both stores.

Media Markt and Saturn: Fusion enables comprehensive shopping

For customers of Media Markt and Saturn, the merger of the two brands has one advantage above all. In the future, they will be able to access both specialist electronics stores across the board – both online and in stationary retail.

“With the joint appearance, we are strengthening the clout of the two successful brands MediaMarkt and Saturn,” explains Dr. Sascha Mager, CEO of MediaMarktSaturn Germany. In this way, customers would benefit from the joint appearance “of an improved shopping experience”.

Because now our entire product range and the extensive services are available to you in our online shops and in around 400 stores throughout Germany – regardless of whether you choose a MediaMarkt or a Saturn store for your purchase.

The group also promises its customers “even more attractive promotions and offers”. In addition, they could save themselves time-consuming price comparisons in the future.
