MacBook Air with new design will be released in the second half of 2021
According to Bloomberg Apple will release a new MacBook Air later this year. The laptop appears to be aimed at the higher segment and has, among other things, a new design. The new Air should be in stores this year, or at the most early next year.

‘High-end MacBook Air with new design on the way’
The news was brought out by Mark Gurman, a renowned Apple journalist. Gurman claims that Apple is currently working on a MacBook Air with thinner bezels, or screen edges. The format seems to remain unchanged at 13 inches. However, the new laptop would be a lot lighter than the current one.
Furthermore, the new MacBook Air will receive MagSafe according to Gurman. This magnetic connection made a comeback with the iPhone 12 and allows you to connect all kinds of accessories, such as chargers and protective covers.
Gurman also writes that the new Air laptop has multiple USB ports to connect external equipment, such as a monitor. Finally, Gurman expects the light MacBook to be powered by an M1 chip. The most recent MacBook Air and MacBook Pro were previously transferred to this Apple-made chip.
According to the Apple insider, the new MacBook Air will be in stores in the second half of this year. If this schedule is too ambitious, Apple would release the laptop early next year. Gurman does not dare to give a specific recommended price. The current MacBook Air starts at 1129.10 euros.

MacBook Pro gets SD card slot
Gurman also indicates that the new MacBook Pro will have an SD card slot. That way, photos can be directly transferred from digital camera to laptop. These tickets are often used in cameras. Until 2016, the MacBook Pro had an SD slot.
The Apple journalist also thinks the company is saying goodbye to the Touch Bar. Some MacBook Pro laptops have such a touch-sensitive bar, with which you can, for example, control the screen brightness. Finally, Gurman claims that Apple is considering bringing Face ID facial recognition to the Mac.
However, details about this are still unknown. Apple would plan to unveil the MacBook Pro with an SD card slot in 2021.
