Between the candles

From 8 to 26 December it is winter in the tropical jungle garden of the Orchideeën Hoeve in Luttelgeest. During the Winter Dream, the animal and plant park is immersed in the Christmas atmosphere with lights everywhere. Special: on twelve evenings thousands of candles are lit by the Christmas elves.

Light artists

Nature is central to the ninth edition of the Amsterdam Light Festival. Between December 10, 2020 and January 3, 2021, our capital is illuminated every night by special works of art of light. During the special Light Walk you have a beautiful view of the lights.

Peeking at the neighbors

In the Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen, the lights are on this Christmas holiday. During the winter months you can stroll in the outdoor museum past houses, shops and workshops from the past. And don’t forget to peek inside, because behind the windows you will find unusual objects and their surprising story.

That’s a big boat

The port of Rotterdam is already impressive all year round, but during the short winter days it is even more special. The gigantic cranes and container ships are illuminated after sunset by countless lights. With the light tour on the FutureLand Ferry you sail close to the large ships that are hundreds of meters long.

Luminous penguins

Beautiful light artworks shine this winter between the pandas and elephants of Ouwehands Zoo in Rhenen. During the China Light Festival you will encounter not only real animals on the route through the park, but also illuminated elephants, giraffes, penguins and dragons.
