LG sells deleted Rollable and Velvet phone at a discount

LG’s 2021 unpublished phones are still being sold in South Korea, but only to employees. It concerns the LG Velvet 2 Pro and the Rollable. The devices are available for a fraction of the normal price, but they come with a limited warranty.

LG sale

LG faced a tough decision this year: Continue the plans of its upcoming smartphone lineup, or throw in the towel. Although the company was preparing to make this difficult decision, behind the scenes work was still going on on phones that would ultimately never make it to the market. The rumor spreader FrontTron now states on Twitter that LG is now holding a sale of all devices from 2021 that have not been released.

The phones are only for sale in South Korea by employees of the tech company. We even get to see a photo of a suspected LG Velvet 2 Pro, and it has a very recognizable appearance if you know the first generation. There are about 3,000 copies of the device for sale and that for an apple and an egg. Employees can buy it from 140 euros, which is a much lower price than the 649 euros that the first generation Velvet cost at launch.

Rollable phone

Furthermore, the LG Rollable is also available to employees, and that is LG’s rollable smartphone that it previously teased during the CES fair. In addition to the special screen, the device also has the specifications of a flagship under the housing. It is not known how much the phone will cost to LG employees.

Yet there are also disadvantages associated with these devices that have never appeared on the market. Warranty is limited to six months for employees and they should not expect any software updates. That is, potential critical errors are not resolved. You do not have to hope that these smartphones will soon be offered on Ebay or other sales sites, because employees are prohibited from reselling the phones.
