Lenovo shows switch alternative NEC Lavie Mini with Ice Lake chip

Lenovo presented an alternative to Nintendo’s switch console at CES 2021. The NEC Lavie Mini is a kind of PC in handheld format and comes with an Ice Lake CPU.
Rumors are currently growing that Nintendo could soon bring a Pro version of its successful Switch handheld console. The Nintendo Switch Pro should therefore be more powerful and have a higher resolution. As a competitor to the Nintendo Switch, Lenovo presented the NEC Lavie Mini at the CES 2021 technology fair.

Handheld with 8-inch touchscreen and controller attachments
The device has an eight-inch touchscreen that has a resolution of 1,920 by 1,200 pixels. There is also a physical keyboard that folds backwards. The mini-PC can be transformed into a handheld using the side-mountable controller attachments. Windows 10 is preinstalled on the 579 gram device.
A Core i7 processor from Intel’s Ice Lake U family works under the hood. The CPU has four cores, eight threads and clock frequencies of up to 4.4 gigahertz, such as PC Games Hardware reports. The device also has an Intel GPU (Iris Xe Graphics G7). Also on board are 16 gigabytes of RAM and a 256 gigabyte SSD.
One USB 3.1 Gen 2 as Type A and two USB Type C with USB 3.1 Gen 2 are available as ports. One of the Type-C ports is also used for charging and supports DisplayPort. The NEC Lavie Mini also has an HDMI 2.0b connection and a microSD card slot. The handheld connects to the Internet via WiFi. Bluetooth 5.1 is also available.
NEC Lavie Mini: Prices and launch date not yet known
Lenovo has not yet revealed anything about prices or a date for the market launch. The PC manufacturer emphasized, however, that the device should definitely come on the market. The Aya Neo equipped with an AMD CPU, which should be a direct competitor to the NEC Lavie Mini, costs around 500 euros.
