Legendary Bulánci are returning after 20 years -apkrig
The Czech video game scene is experiencing another return to the classics, this time it is a freeware multiplayer event Bulánci from 2001, which gained popularity among many players and found its way not only to most school computers. The new project behind the original SleepTeam is not a typical sequel – Bulánky 2.0 will offer redesigned graphics, old but also new maps, popular gameplay and also the opportunity to play not only on a PC, but also on other platforms. The game, like the seventh Polda, bet on the community and launched its campaign on Starter, where the interest of the players did not take long. The authors talked about 500,000 crowns, which they managed to collect during the first two hours; at the time of writing this report, SleepTeam was already able to collect over 750,000 crowns.
The cult shooter with bloodthirsty pillows in the lead role is still very popular and has collected over 16 million downloads in 20 years. This was undoubtedly helped by the easy accessibility, fun gameplay and unforgettable sound page, whether it is voice speeches Bulgarians gunmen or the catchy soundtrack of Lubor Kopecký. No wonder, then, that her return has been talked about and speculated about many times. Now the SleepTeam studio is finally fulfilling its wishes and embarking on the full revival of the Bulánks, who have so far survived, at least in part, thanks to the community and the available editor. Community involvement should not be lost even now, as the campaign itself shows.
Today, the original Bulánks are obsolete and few people will really run them on the network. We therefore decided to create their successor, who would continue to carry the torch for the rights of these soft heroes.
The new Bulánci will offer everything that nostalgia demands, but they will also bring a number of improvements. Whether it’s modern graphic “bedding” of already known maps, 3D processing, new levels, weather changes, expansion of the story background and, last but not least, modern accessories for the Bulánky itself. The game will offer classic shootouts, a conquest mode, but also a campaign that will be playable both individually and in cooperation. It is also important to try to expand Bulanky beyond computers, and according to current plans, players should also play an improved legend on both generations of the PlayStation, resp. Xbox and then on the Switch and in case of success also on mobile devices.
The creators demanded 500 thousand crowns on Startovač, but it quickly became clear that they would achieve a similar success as the seventh Polda, as in just one hour they got over half the required amount and reached their goal in an hour and forty minutes. Contributors are then classically offered the opportunity to support just, or through the individual stages to get the game itself, preliminary access, but for wealthier or larger fans there are also collectible figurines, board game, collector’s packages, VIP parties with creators, a special book of Bulánky poetry or even a cake or the opportunity to get your own Bulánek in the game .
Shortly before Christmas 2001, the first version of the game was released, which was then gradually enriched with additional maps and weapons, while the last official version came in 2005 together with the map editor.
The campaign on the Starter will run for thirty days, so we can only wait for how much money the game will eventually manage to collect. However, it is certain that the Bulgarians are able to reach many players even after such a time, at the same time it testifies to the strength of the cult status that the game (together with other Czech titles) managed to win in our country. If you would like to join the support of the Czech game classic, you should hurry, as some more unique rewards disappear quickly, or it pays to follow the updated official website, as it is possible that some other surprises will be waiting for us due to huge interest.
As for the original game, the development started already in 1999 after the completion of the first Polda, to the continuation of which the team from Zima Software has already moved, so the trio of developers consisting of Jaroslav Wagner, Radek Matějka and Lubor Kopecký fully embarked on pillows. Their ideal idea was a small game without the need for installation, which could be further expanded, which succeeded. Shortly before Christmas 2001, the first version of the game was released, which was then gradually enriched with additional maps and weapons, while the last official version came in 2005 together with the map editor. In 2003, the English version of the game was also distributed abroad, and in 2009, the Bulgarians even looked at mobile, then still push-button, phones via Java, where they could be played via Bluetooth.
