Leaked video ‘confirms’ iPhone 13 Pro Max name

Well, it is more or less clear that the next iPhone will be called 13, but a leaked video showing covers for the iPhone 13 Pro Max provides additional ‘confirmation’.

The names of iPhones sound very logical, but it took a while to get going. There has never been an iPhone 1, but there has been a 2(G): the very first. That became 3G and 3GS, and then 4, 4S, 5, 5S, 6, 6S, and 7, where the S was always a kind of ‘facelift’. The ‘facelift’ of the 7 suddenly became 8, 9 was skipped for the iPhone X (suddenly with a Roman numeral), after which it became XS and 11 again. However, the latest iPhone isn’t 11S, it’s 12, and from now on, Apple seems to be moving back to a logical system called iPhone 13 as the next step. Which is strange, because in some cultures the superstition surrounding the number 13 is sacred. So there were rumors that this number would be skipped – which in itself contains quite a bit of logic.

iPhone 13 case in leaked video

However, the name iPhone 13 now seems more evident than ever due to a leaked video. Via Twitter there is a video of the official silicone cases that Apple releases with their new phones. We don’t get to see anything about the case itself that we didn’t already know, but the name seems to be ‘confirmed’. The cases from the leaked video bear the name ‘iPhone 13 Pro Max’. So we get to see the name iPhone 13, along with the fact that there will also be Pro and Pro Max versions. Nothing new, but it now seems nothing but certain that superstitions are not going to stop Apple.

‘Confirmed’

Still, people in the twitter thread surrounding the leaked iPhone 13 video are skeptical. The text would not quite match the text on the silicone covers of, for example, the iPhone 12. The person who posted the video (who also has it via via) shares the doubts, so it can also be imitations. The truth lies in the middle.
